Today we have had a bit of snow. We all went out to play in the snow, but it took a bit of doing. The Small Autocrat was not having it when I tried to get his mittens, snow-bib and jacket on him. It was like Graeco-Roman wrestling over here. I managed to prevail, yet if you look closely at the photos, you will notice his boots are on the wrong feet. It is telling. Also, the house has become a bit of an obstacle course, but I suspect it is also the Wee One’s age. This week he has leapt from his crib onto his mouth, escaped the “extreme-cage-fighting arena” a few times and narrowly avoided injury, he has had his hand closed in a door over by the hinge side and he has almost fallen down the stairs that are impossible to gate. They are like the Exorcist stairs in Georgetown. For realz. There is a hook-and-eye closure holding the top of the door shut but he managed to pull in such a way that it just popped open. I am actually worried that we are on the cusp of disaster, and I don’t know whether it is the space, my mothering skills, or his age that is the driving force. I assume, naturally, that it is a confluence of things. Here are some pics.

PS- there was some shouting and despair this morning. I apologize for the tone of that last post. Sometimes I have to re-focus. Please note that I do know that that one pic is rotated funny. The uploader used to let me rotate it, but now it gives me an error message. I had already rotated it in Photoshop, so I dunno what gives. Just turn your head, mmmkay?
